Liverpool, UK – A 21-year-old lifelong Reds supporter, Ryan Griffiths, has tragically passed away after a long battle with liver failure. Known among friends and family as the loudest voice in the Kop since childhood, Ryan spent his final days in hospital surrounded by scarves and chants of “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

In his last conversation with his mother, Ryan reportedly said, “If anything happens to me, please save King Kenny. I want him to keep living for Liverpool.” Hours after Ryan was taken off life support, doctors discovered his liver was a rare perfect match for club legend Sir Kenny Dalglish, 74, who had been privately battling end-stage liver disease and awaiting a transplant.

The Griffiths family agreed immediately to the donation. A family spokesperson said in tears, “Ryan worshipped Kenny. Losing our boy is unbearable, but knowing a piece of him now lives on in the greatest man our club has ever known gives us a small bit of comfort.” Sir Kenny is recovering well following the successful transplant operation yesterday. You’ll Never Walk Alone.
